The Client

Stone & Rock have been reliable clients for Moore Design for quite some time. When freelancing for them, I worked on a number of projects for them including graphic designs, social media management and am currently in the process of designing their latest product catalogue.

Product Stickers

Since Stone & Rock are a major supplier across the country, they ship majority of the products. They were in need of a custom label to be added for their two biggest product types, walling and flooring.

The major challenge of this task was that each label had to be contain all the necessary information and branding on a small canvas, whilst being easy readable and able to make notes. Using Affinity Publisher, I got to work incorporating all content, before finding a layout that worked best. Finally, I add a subtle marble background to help improve readability and tie in to the Stone & Rock brand. They team were happy with the first draft and continue to use them on all of the walling and flooring products.

Cladding Samples

Similar to the product stickers, the client was in need of a sample board for their wall cladding to be presented on in their showroom. This board would an A4 and have designs both front and back to give to potential customers to look over.

I wanted to keep this design simple, since the focus was on the actual stone sample, yet still obvious where they would be buying from. The solution, dropping the transparency on all large elements. This way they were obvious to see, yet not overpowering on the page. I made the business name the largest element on the design and presented in a unique yet readable corner style. On the back, I added the necessary information about that particular product, and tied the entire design together with the same marble background from the product labels for consistency.

Because it's always good to provide options, I also submitted a second design to the team. Similar to the first, but wth more of a luxurious aesthetic. I took inspiration of high-fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and created a stacked effect with the Stone & Rock name. Again, dropping the transparency so the design is noticeable, yet subtle.

Brochure

The current project I am working on for the Stone & Rock team is their latest product brochure.

Their previous catalogue was very design-focused, and whilst aesthetically pleasing, didn't do the best job of getting the necessary information across. They've tasked me with creating a new brochure that clearly functions the way a good brochure should, whilst also keeping some unique design choices to entice the reader.
