The Brief

Brook House Counselling initially approached my web design agency seeking to establish a professional online presence for her business. Michelle, the counselor, expressed the need for a contemporary, one-page website that effectively communicated her qualifications, services, process, and contact information. All to which I was happy to help with!

During the initial consultation, Michelle conveyed her desire for a website that reflected her holistic approach to counseling. She emphasised the importance of creating a welcoming and calming online environment for potential clients. Our team understood the need for a user-friendly design that would resonate with her target audience. In addition to the website, we proposed a complete rebranding of Brook House Counselling's online persona. This included developing a new logo, selecting a complementary color scheme, and choosing typography that evoked a sense of natural, holistic healing.

The Design

With the project scope defined, I got to work crafting a design that aligned with Michelle's vision. This began with the branding, as it was necessary to establish the look and feel of her business before bringing it to life through web development. Michelle asked for pink to be the primary colour, so I chose beautiful shade of soft pink, equally complimenting with various creams and a striking blue to contrast nicely. The logo was designed around the concept of nature, symbolising growth and renewal. After a few iterations, the client was satisfied with the design of a pair of abstract hands and leaves in the shape of a tree.

Once the brand established, it was time to work on design and development. As this was only going to be a single-page website, the hero section had to be not only inviting, but informative. The client and I felt that it was necessary to list their counseling specialities here to entice potential customers. From there I continued designing a visually appealing layout that highlighted the clients qualifications, services offered, counseling process, and easy-to-find contact information. Incorporating user-friendly navigation and clear call-to-action buttons, I ensured a seamless browsing experience for visitors.

The Outcome

Upon completion of the project, Brook House Counselling was thrilled with the results. The new website captured the essence of Brook House Counselling, providing a tranquil and informative platform for potential clients. She appreciated New Heights Designs dedication in guiding her through the more intricate aspects of website management. With my assistance, Michelle also gained confidence in maintaining and updating her site, empowering her to connect with clients effectively.
